Having started in 2017 as a temporary research project format, the Stuttgart Change Labs have been established as regular format at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning thanks to funding by the Ministry of Science, Research and Art of Baden-Württemberg (Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst) in 2021.
The Stuttgart Change Labs are experimenting with inter- and transdisciplinary teaching formats in search of creative approaches to sustainable development. This includes qualification workshops and courses, tools and templates, and help for getting financial support for start-ups as well as finding adequate cooperation partners.
Together with a number of cooperation partners, the Chair of International Urbanism has recently contributed to establishing an orientation tool called „Learning by Building”:
