Astrid Ley will contribute as a panellist for ‘Citizen involvement in policy and science’ to the digital Indo-German Forum on Cities and Climate on 16-17 March 2021.
The Forum will bring together 20-25 scientists, decision-makers, and professionals mainly from India and Germany to present research projects across disciplines and analysis on the relationship of cities and climate. An audience of 300-400 stakeholders from research, academia, government, civil society, and international organisations is expected.
Among other things, the Forum will address the questions of how cities can adapt to climate-change and how urban settlements can minimise their environmental impacts. This includes climate science and climate strategies for cities, smart cities, coastal cities, urban water, green buildings, and air quality – as well as a meaningful way of involving citizens in urban strategies with regard to overall policy, individual behaviour and academic research.
Astrid Ley will contribute to the live panel session 2.2 on „Citizen involvement in policy and science“ together with Mr. Urban Kaiser (Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge) and Dr. Sanskriti Menon (Centre for Environment Education). The panel will be moderated by Dr. Christoph Woiwode (Indo-German Centre for Sustainability RWTH Aachen University).
The Indo-German Forum is an annual event format of the DWIH (Deutsches Wissenschafts- und Innovationshaus) New Dehli.
