This recommendation paper by Josefine Fokdal, Franziska Schreiber and Astrid Ley is an outcome of a future workshop from February 2021.
The paper offers:
(1) concrete suggestions for how to strengthen participatory and transformative processes through innovative methods, new interlinkages and capacity development in urban research, practice and education.
(2) and recommendations for future strategy development of institutions and funding agencies aiming to become leading voices in the urban transformation towards people-centered cities.
The three-day future workshop commissioned by the Robert Bosch Foundation took place from 15–17 February 2021, involving some 20 students and alumni of the MSc Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design (IUSD) as young urban change agents.
