Martina Hilligardt graduated in 2015 from the University of Stuttgart. During her studies she worked in several planning offices in Germany and England on international projects, developing new working and learning spaces.
Since 2016 she is research associate at the Städtebau-Institut, International Urbanism and the International Center for Cultural and Technological Studies at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. She is part of the real world lab STADT-RAUM-BILDUNG (City-Space-Education) funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Art. Her studies focus on participation in planning process and empowering users on further development of existing schools.
Within her activity for the International Center for Cultural and Technological Studies (IZKT), she conceptualizes public events to involve stakeholders in current research issues.
Ever since she is part of the design team for school buildings of a|sh architekten, Ludwigshafen. Her research interests include school building typology and the historical development of school buildings.
