Today, the exhibition ‘Tell me where home is’ opens in Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, with the participation of SI-IU.The exhibition runs until 17 January 2027.
How do people define Heimat (“home”) in the 21st century? Can you still speak of home in the singular, when concepts of home have become increasingly plural in the present time? Has home as a geographical location had its day? How do people continually form new homes for themselves? These questions are at the core of the exhibition.
Astrid Ley was a member of the scientific advisory board for „Tell Me Where Home Is“ and contributed together with Shaharin Annisa to the exhibition catalog of the same name. The chair of international urbanism furthermore participates with a side show in the exhibition called „In Transit“ showcasing research and teaching work related to translocal urbanism. Here, work by students as well as research work by Shaharin Annisa and Yara Alheswani are displayed.
