Professor Ley to give lecture in Johannesburg on 6 March 2020
Professor Astrid Ley gives a lecture on „Research Methods“ at the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of Witwatersrand (Wits) in Johannesburg on 6 March 2020. The event takes place at the invitation of Professor Marie Huchzermeyer of Wits. In her talk Professor Ley focuses upon transformative action research illustrating it with concrete examples of research practice such as the interdisciplinary research project WECHSEL (German translation for „change“). WECHSEL (2017 – 2019) examined the transition of energy systems and its spatial dimension within the Stuttgart Neckar Valley offering contribution to transform Stuttgart into a river city. This lecture is part of Professor Ley´s trip to Pretoria and Johannesburg from 2 – 10 March 2020.
