IUSD Lecture: “Critical Mapping” / vert. Prof. Thomas Rustemeyer

It is our pleasure to welcome Prof. Thomas Rustemeyer who reports on his work in the field of critical cartography,

which is not only used for presentation and visualization, but also as an important tool in research and knowledge generation. Mapping is a method of perceiving, exploring and noting the intrinsic logic of places, as well as showing spatial, political, ephemeral, sometimes invisible phenomena and creating meanings. His lecture will contain practical examples and contents of the publication “Critical Mapping”, which was created in 2019 as part of a seminar of the same name at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe (HfG).
