GO GLOCAL: New joint project with Namibia University to start in 2021

The successful application of the Chair of International Urbanism and the Institute of Energy Economics and Rational Energy Use (IER) within the ASA University Global Programme will enable two students to participate in the international research project Go GLOCAL on integrated settlement planning and clean energy at the Namibia University for Science and Technology (NUST) in 2021.

Project description
The joint project GO GLOCAL aims to create a new partnership between the University of Stuttgart and the Namibia University for Science and Technology (NUST) (Windhoek, Namibia) with regard to implementing the climate-relevant SDGs on a local level. Thus the project seeks to establish a learning network in order to promote a sustainable dialogue and intercity exchange with city administrations, science and civil society.

ASA University is part of Engagement Global / the Service Agency Communities in One World, the partner for local development cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. While cooperationg with universities, municipalities, and partners from business and civil society to anchor the commitment to global sustainability more firmly in the scientific community, ASA also welcomes students to participate in international research projects that combine basic research in the field of sustainability with practice-oriented projects.
