As part of a Global Glimpse mission Ute Vees, staff member and PhD candidate at the Department of International Urbanism, visited the School of Built Environment, Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia.
At the host institution, she learned about the current restructuring of the School of Built Environment (former EiABC) and its future aims in research and teaching. Likewise, she gave insights into the work of our Department and the IUSD program, and into university and faculty structures.
Joint discussions on urban transformations in Addis Ababa and rural Ethiopia led to questions of potential future collaborations. The stay was funded through the University of Stuttgart Global Glimpse program which aims to extend personal networks into institutional networks.
